BMW is believed to be formulating a hot variation of the freshly exposed X2 SUV, and our exclusive image shows what the BMW X2 M may appear like if it gets the thumbs-up. It’s expected to produce around 400hp from a 3.0-litre straight-six engine.
2019 BMW X2 M Styling
Our render reveals the X2 M will have a far more aggressive want to it than the basic X2, thanks to a bumper that obtains styling hints from the brilliant M2 coupe. It’ll feature a front splitter that stands out further than the bumper and much larger air consumptions to cool the powerful engine. Just like the M Sport versions, the X2 M will sit 10mm lower than the basic X2. It’ll also have stylish side skirts, a more popular rear spoiler, larger alloy wheels with a different style, and a scattering of M badges.
2019 BMW X2 M Interior
The 2019 BMW X2 M will have similar interior as the regular X2, with a high-resolution infotainment touchscreen on the centre console. Although you can option the standard car with a strip of coloured plastic across the control panel, the X2 M will most likely offer carbon-fibre trim instead. There’ll be a sporty wheel, contrasting stitching and aluminium pedals, and you’ll be held in place by racy bucket seats.
2019 BMW X2 M Engines and Driving
If the X2 M makes production, it’ll more than likely have the 3.0-litre straight-six gas engine found in the M2. Expect it to produce around 400hp, and you need to have the ability to attain 35mpg if you’re not driving like your hair’s on fire.
Filling the gap in between the hot X2 M and the rest of the range will be an X2 M40i, powered by a 340hp variation of the very same 3.0-litre twin-turbo engine. Both these versions will be fast enough to move the X2 M from 0-62mph in under five seconds.
2019 BMW X2 M Price and Release Date
The 2019 BMW X2 M hasn’t been verified yet, so if it’s green-lit then it won’t be on sale until late-2019 at the earliest. It’ll cost around ₤ 45,000.
