Models for what’s most likely to be the brand-new S8 have simply been found. The 4 specific exhaust pointers at the rear is a clear giveaway that this isn’t really a basic model. Constructed on the MLB Evo platform, the 2019 S8 is expected to weigh considerably less. This and a couple of other small tweaks need to make the car much faster than its predecessor, irrespective of the power plant that it will include.
2019 Audi S8 Design
What the new S8 does not have in sound, in the meantime, it more than offsets with existence. The design of the flagship sedan differs from anything else Audi currently has, but it’s not the production version of the Prologue that everybody was expecting.
From the back, we see the brand-new connected taillight style, while the front is crisp and architectural. Unlike with the S-Class, there are nearly no curves here, so Audi fans are getting more of what they want. However we see virtually no features that can be associated with the S-treatment, such as air consumption and huge brakes.
2019 Audi S8 Engine
Because Audi and Porsche teamed up on engine advancement, the S8 is going to have roughly the same bi-turbo 4.0-liter V8 available in the most recent Panamera Turbo. There, it churns out 550 PS and 567 pound-feet (770 Newton-meters) of torque. Similar to the S4 has somewhat more horsepower than the base Panamera, so too might the S8 pack about 570 PS.
But what really matters here is the velocity. All that power is most likely to be managed by an automatic and quattro AWD for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 miles per hour) sprint time of 4 seconds or simply under. And thanks to a coasting function, cylinder deactivation or mild hybrid tech, the S8 might be … fairly affordable, for a 2-ton car that is.
2019 Audi S8 Release Date
The basic A8 bows later this year, as a 2019 model. It’s likely the S8’s reveal will be delayed till in the year.
